Lou received his BS from Penn State and his MS from Lehigh University, in Engineering/Operations Research.  He worked for PPG Industries in Pittsburg, PA. and Clarksburg, WV; Air Products and Chemicals in Allentown, PA; and Brown and Williamson Tobacco in Louisville. Ky. and Macon, GA.  For about 30 years, he designed and  developed mathematical models and computer systems which improved/optimized business processes such as delivery scheduling, plant location, production planning, inventory policy, and production scheduling.

Lou retired in 2001 and returned to Berwick and remains retired.

Lou's honors and recognitions include the International Management Science Achievement Award.
